of the artifacts as a
collection. They represent a time capsule of life on board the ,Atocha and
many items are not represented in any other collection in the world. Some
pieces that depict scenes of Indian life are extremely rare. We are also
investigating various avenues of maximizing the historic value of the
collection. CERTIFICATION COSTS: The additional staff and equipment required to accelerate the distribution has a significant cost approaching two million dollars. The stockholders have already been assessed the cost of substantially beefing up the security system and of adding to the administrative staff to help handle all of the inquiries. |

| Since distribution benelits investors and stockholders, it is reasonable to utilize some of the treasure to provide the necessary funding, in lieu of asking for additional investments. The Division Committee has therefore approved a plan which will utilize the sale of the sludge which results from the reverse electrolysis process, and which contains some silver particles that are reclaimable. | |

As you can see, we still have a lot of work ahead of us, but I feel that the Division Committee has already accomplished quite a bit, We always work in the best interests of our investors and we want to assure a fair division for all. - -- Taffi Quesada (Mel’s daughter) is head of Treasure Salvor’s Curating Department. |

The most common questions from Treasure Salvors’ investors are: when will the division take place, why is it taking so long, and how much will it be worth? One of our investors, Jim Deupree, volunteered to write an informative answer to those questions after a lengthy tour of our current operation in late February, while vacationing in Key West. Jim lives in Connecticut, where he is an executive with a large corporation. We invested in Treasure Salvors as a romantic adventure, and because we respected Mel Fisher’s unshakable dedication. If you are like us, you have read every newspaper article with avid interest and are still searching for some basic answers, if for no other reason than to have a reasonable answer for the questions your friends keep asking. |

During my last visit I met Jim Sinclair, who is in charge of all the cleaning and restoration process and who was gracious enough to give me an extensive tour of the back room”, where all of the work leading to the distribution is taking place.
One’s first impression is the deep respect for the historical significance of the treasure. Keep in mind that the tens of thousands of items being recovered were last touched by human hands over 350 years ago, or 14 generations ago. They contain important clues regarding the evolution of the western world that will be studied for generations to come. Properly capturing the details for ongoing study required a complete mapping of the site at the bottom of the ocean and making detailed impressions of each major item and block of coins. While these steps sometimes seem painstakingly slow, they are a debt to history that must be paid, and they are not significantly delaying the distribution. In addition, all investors are served very well by a mapping and certification process that can pinpoint exactly where, within the wreckage, a given coin or artifact was located to avoid any future disputes regarding authenticity. |
